Welcome to AfroSAFE Academy

AfroSAFE Academy is the virtual centre of excellence in traffic safety launched by the AfroSAFE project team, in partnership with ICTCT.

What is it?

AfroSAFE Academy is a network of engaged scholars and practitioners with a joint mission to advance research and education in traffic safety with particular focus on the African context.To ensure sustainability and long life of the excellence centre after the formal end of the AfroSAFE project, we have partnered up with the ICTCT, an international association of traffic safety researchers, which has agreed to host us as a sub-committee.

What to expect?

  • Annual traffic safety conference in one of the African countries 
  • Regular webinars on relevant topics 
  • Development of educational materials (e.g. a curriculum for an academic course in traffic safety) 
  • Sharing information on relevant research and education initiatives, funding opportunities, etc.
